Participatory Science

We lead and support various monitoring programs to provide data-driven recommendations to decision-makers.

Community Sea Turtle Monitoring

Participate alongside other organizations in sea turtle surveillance and monitoring across Las Baulas National Marine Park and Tamarindo Beach.

Marine Debris Monitoring

🗓️ Year-round

We lead the Marine Debris Laboratory at Las Baulas National Marine Park. In this open-air classroom, we collect data with students and volunteers to develop joint solutions to marine pollution, primarily plastics

Intertidal Life Monitoring

Collaborate with academic and national institutions in collecting data for the Ecological Integrity Protocol on sandy and rocky beaches within the national park.

Mangrove Ecology Monitoring

Collaborate with academic and national institutions in collecting ecological integrity data for local mangrove ecosystems.

Light Pollution Monitoring

Ecological Connectivity Monitoring
