From a national park experience to an educational laboratory

2009

An idea is born, giving rise to several projects

From concepts like El Jabirú, TuriGuía, and Pecho Amarillo to Sos Grande, various ideas emerged focused on conservation-oriented tourism and environmental education.

2019

Strength in unity, the beginning of SosGrande

A group of friends, including biologists and environmental advocates, came together with the idea of better organizing the project that would come to be named Sostenibilidad en Grande

2023

After the pandemic, we became official!

The COVID-19 pandemic caused a pause that gave us time to consolidate the project, officially incorporating under Costa Rica's Law 218 for Associations.

2024

The Marine Debris Lab is launched

Building on the marine debris monitoring conducted since 2019, an educational strategy was created through the Marine Debris Laboratory.

2026

Ideas grow, alongside new partners

More and more people contribute their expertise, time, and support to strengthen our projects, while opening new opportunities for collaboration.
